Supporters Cooperative Newsletter- 5 May 2022. Hatters Half Marathon 2022. Sunday 4 September 2022 will see the Supporters Cooperative stage, for the seventh year, the Stockport Hatters Half Marathon, with the magnificent support of Stockport company RKL Engineering. http://www.rkl-engineering.co.uk/ Race Director John Giles sticks with the proven winning formulae that keeps this classic road/trail race towards the very top of UK race listings. The race starts at Edgeley Park before heading off via Stockport roads to the Trans Pennine Trail where runners then follow the mighty River Mersey that beautiful raging force of nature that for centuries formed the boundary between the ancient kingdoms of Mercia and Northumbria and more latterly Lancashire and Cheshire, returning to the finish at the picturesque Alexandra Park. Edgeley Park provides a pre-race base from where the race starts, at 9.30 am. Winners last year were Nick Lee of Horwich RMI in 1.17.28 for the men, and Rachel Rozhdestvenstaya in the Women`s race who clocked 1.29.26. Entries are already flooding in for this popular event, and a great race is in prospect. Last year Lydia Eames and Rick Ebbage ran the race and raised a brilliant £665. Bergara Gin. We are delighted to confirm that the third and final batch of the fabulous `Bergara Gin` has sold out. Our thanks and congratulations go to Cheryl and Paul at the magnificent @Stockport Gin for this tremendous effort that has contributed significantly to the Danny Bergara Statue Appeal! Big Kev Evening Aids the Danny Bergara Statue Appeal. The 1883 Suite at Edgeley Park was the scene of a fantastic evening with County great Kevin Francis featuring recently. We are pleased to confirm that a total of £2011.50 was raised via our raffle and auction in support of the Danny Bergara Statue Appeal which has now topped £26000 ! Our thanks go to Kevin & all the County fans present whose support made this possible! Keeping in Contact/ Raising important Questions. With the Club obviously engaged fully with the teams progress in what remains of this vital season, time available for them to meet with ourselves has been unavoidably curtailed.
