    got the double jeopardy rule where if ref deems defender to have made a genuine attempt to play the ball its a penalty and at worst only a caution as the pen is deemed a goalscoring opportunity in itself so the foul isnt denying one if its in penalty area

    If ref however deems defender made no genuine attempt to play the ball in committing a foul in penalty area its still a red

    The laws regarding denying clear goalscoring opportunity for a foul outside area still exist in that it will be a red regardless of genuine attempt to play ball or not
