Well the battle of the top two is over in what turned out to be a bruising , brutal encounter ! Firstly though the National League or whoever runs it need to take a long hard look at themselves as to who decides which referee is appointed to which match . The referee lost control of the game on several occasions as lunging tackles , lunging fists we’re flying in , there was far too much at stake and the match needed a referee of European or premier league experience . The opening thirty minutes was played at a frenetic pace , the ball was bobbling around like a pin ball machine . That said I thought at two nil the score line flattered Chesterfield somewhat , in fact neither goalkeeper was tested much in the whole game although Ash Palmer was very unlucky not to pull one back with a header just before the break . Once Croesdale , Collar got hold of the game we started to play to our strengths , that is passing the ball , making good moves and getting round the back of the Chesterfield defence . The new lad ,Myles , looked good , skill full and quick in the first half but faded a bit in the second , however he is very good cover for Sarsevic . It was a great comeback , two quality strikes and really Chesterfield were there for the taking but it was a match of few clear cut chances but a pulsating game nonetheless . If we had been two nil up and had drawn the game we would have felt a bit deflated but the County fans seemed happy enough as it seemed like a point gained rather than two points dropped . It’s all psychology , Chesterfield have the chance to go back to the top at Weymouth on Saturday , you would expect them to win there but remember four of our next five games are at home although the barmy weather may intervene somewhat . But plenty to look forward to !!
