At the moment signing players to develop in the future is not what we need.
It’s a results game, that’s all that counts, promotion is the only aim. We need players who hit the deck running.
That is true to a good extent.
We do need players that can hit the deck running, whether they are younger players like Collar and MSH, who can be developed and potentially sold on for good profit or players like Madden who deliver straight away.
Financially the key is promotion and securing our share of Football League payments, which is worth well over £1m per year.
I'd rather have players who are younger and can deliver, but the key goal this season has to be promotion, especially if financial fair play rules are introduced for the National League next season.
