I'm certainly not underwhelmed. This time last year things were looking much better but nothing was certain, there was still every chance we could have missed out on promotion and still be struggling to get out of the Conference North today. We've won the league and established ourselves at this level very quickly, our part time players have had to adjust to a much higher standard and long distance away games against full time sides. We've done much, much better than I expected and now we've finally been taken over.
This season is likely to fizzle out now and we are really feeling the impact of the take over yet. Lloyd and Maynard coming in is a sign that we're operating on an entirely different level now, but that's countered by the destabilising effect on the existing squad so I'm not expecting a major turn around this season. The real excitement is a few months away I think so for now I don't feel like there's actually much to discuss. The buzz will be back when we go full time with proper training facilities and we see a better standard of player coming in over the summer. For now, I'm just grateful that we aren't just treading water any more and looking forward to the summer.
