Also, having a 10 year spell living in Oldham, I’d been to quite a few games at Boundary Park and I knew a few going. Oldham took a fair following and packed out the sIde opposite the big stand. There wasn’t much talk of backroom stuff. They were more bothered about how shit their keeper was (and he definitely was shit), how good their on loan Johnny Smith is, why one of their full backs keeps dislocating his shoulder, how slow Danny Rowe is, why defending too deep when defending a point and not leaving a man up on corners is wrong (sound familiar?) and generally shouting for the sacking of their manager.
