Overall, Jim's stats speak for themselves. He knows what he's doing and when the players get it, his system brings results.
The long ball you refer to is not the traditional route-one, 'flick it on to the smaller, quicker guy', it's about holding the ball up and bringing players in which means the point 'striker' is often behind play by the time he's turned. His job is not, first and foremost, to score goals.
Gone are the days when you got it wide a crossed it into the box where 2 strikers were waiting - it's usually too easy to defend against.
