You may well be right to some extent BR, but the cost to the economy and to the health (and therefore the finances) of this country as a result of us all travelling round in cars to the extent that we do is going to sap the country's coffers as well. The government will be well aware of that. They are just too cowardly to do anything about it until they will be absolutely forced to.
Were public transport still in the government's hands they'd be able to cotrol things far more than they can do at the present. As it is.....
