The most stupid one is if you are a wheelchair user so you can’t get on board the normal rail replacement coach. Instead the rail companies have to order you a special taxi. So, it is likely to be only the wheelchair user and their party travelling in the taxi. But, if you’re going from Stockport to Sheffield, that taxi still has to call in at all the station entrances en-route, rather than just going straight to Sheffield. And then they’re not allowed to take you direct to your house or hotel in Sheffield, even if you offer to pay extra, only allowed to drop you at the railway station.
