Re: New bag policy
Nope, knew the reasons why, it has been in the news for ages with other establishments. However just because somebody gives a reason it doesn’t make it right. If it was law I could understand it, but it isn’t yet, and when they make it law then people will have time to adapt and work out other ways, eg if a bag has to be no bigger than a4 then technically somebody could make a bag with max dimensions of 297 x 210, but what about the depth The term A4 doesn’t work for anything really apart from paper as is doesn’t have a third measurement, normally in the case of other things it means that neither of the first 2 sides should be bigger than 297 x 210, but the depth isn’t covered so it can be any depth, certainly up to 297 mm again. It should really be no bag over a set measurement made up of the sum of all 3 measurements . EasyJet certainly work this way, a handbag for instance is free up to 45 x 36 x 20, if you have a toddler under 2 you can also carry one onboard for them free.some airlines will then also give a max circumference made up of all 3 measurements as suggested
