How can you say students aren't poor? Tuition fees of £9,000 a year, before any rent or living costs are paid for. Accommodation, mobile phone / internet, transport, food, going out, clothing, etc you are looking at £700 to £800 a month. All with no income.
Can easily come out of university with £40,000 of debt
And how can the government not be responsible for the housing crisis? They've been in power for NINE years. Why aren't they building council houses / social housing (call it what you like) on a large scale? Make rents affordable and allow key workers to live in the major cities.
