Why do two of my colleagues work when they don't need to? They have two properties and decent pension pots. Sell a property and use the pension pots why don't they? They both hate the company they work for. And they're both stressed out.
Why are they staggered when I tell them that I'll make whatever lifestyle change I need to so as to enable myself to retire at 55? Even if that entails selling my house and living full time travelling around in a motorhome until I'm no longer able to.
It's a total mystery. Do some people just not have enough going on in their lives, such as family, hobbies, pastimes, stuff they might do for charity, bucket lists and the like?
I can gladly spend a very happy time, on my own, reading books, playing Football Manager, studying stuff that interests me, watching TV, listening to music, arguing on Yellow Board. I'll never ever miss work.
If someone gave me £400k to do next to piss all I'd do next to piss all. Every time.
