Many points have been made about the percentage increases etc etc and I totally appreciate that to some, the increase poses a significant challenge to personal finances.
I agree that the increase on the face of it does seem steep but I have seen plenty of evidence that supports the notion that we are not charging over the odds. Weíre charging similar to that of similar sized clubs who will be seeking to achieve promotion to the EFL (which is surely what everyone wants?).
Itís clear to me that in football, money matters. Weíre going to need as much of it as possible if we are going to succeed in getting out of this division and into the EFL. Itís important for us to be able to compete so as not to end up back in division 6. The increase based on increase in travel costs required and 2 extra games seems large, but acceptable in my opinion.
I donít believe it is the job of the shareholders to financially support the club. Doing so and living outside of our means can only end in long term financial issues, the sort I donít want to ever see at this club again. The club should be as best as humanly possible, sustainable in its own right.
The club has more chance of success (and potentially further investment) if it is a liquid business with a major asset of an unwaveringly supportive fan base.
This is all my opinion and everyone is entitled to agree or disagree with it.
