The problem was he'd been out of the game too long, and hadn't kept in touch with things, hence recruiting players who had been good a couple of seasons ago, but done nothing since.
Most obvious example of this was Colley. Two seasons previously, he'd been scoring loads at a lower level and looked good as a punt to move up the league to see if he could cut it higher up. Problem was by the time Young had taken him on, another club or two had already taken said punt, and he'd scored no goals in twenty games (or whatever it was) at CN level, a story that continued for us.
