When the Board of the day took over they had a blank canvas and the opportunity to put in place a solid structure. Question everything, don't assume that the Administrators had made it any better, they should have taken the difficult decisions rather than shirked them.
We paid, I believe, £200k a year for utility bills and continued to do so until the boy wonder flew in from the blue sky. We employed people for the hell of it - I remember the uproar when people were released because they were "County Fans" and were really nice! - Nobody knew exactly what they did though.
A solid base could have been, and was, there.
We blew it. But it wasn't "their" fault. It never is.
