No goals - 30 goals - 30 goals - no goals! Its a sad cycle.
If we take away the FCT game against possibly the worst team in dung to ever darken our doors and the three goals against a tiring 10 man Leamington we've managed 4 goals in the other 7 matches and no more than one in any.
When we went a goal down on Saturday I thought that a win was gone and with a bit of luck we might scrape a draw. I've not felt like that in years.
I'm not interested in who is to blame any more. The Board's financing of the team is unclear. Its always smoke, mirrors and innuendo. The Manager has his issues but he's far from poor. I reckon he would be the ideal Manager for us if we were in the Football League but we're not. Would Jim get us up with a double budget? Probably the wrong question to someone who dislikes him but it's pertinent.
We are in a league where physicality prevails. Players have a role and stick to it whatever. When a player gets sent off (eg Leamington) a forward comes off and a sub takes the role of the guy Red carded. The rest of the team stay as they were.
We take pride in our lack of Red and Yellow Cards. Where does that get us? We get players injured and our opponents do the injuring.
We need a 20 goal a season man alongside Nyal Bell. Nyal shouldn't be the target man he should be learning from a Denton / Oswell type player.
Without a proper regular goalscorer we will remain a defensive cock up away from a defeat or at best a draw.
Hopefully something will happen soon.
