It has come up repeatedly since then as an idea. Of course now we have foreign owners it's easy to blame them when it comes up again. It's simply money trying to flex its muscles though. It might happen one day, it might not and (hopefully) obviously I am wholly against that and the franchising of football clubs. But trying to pin the blame on the Yanks (who I am also no great defender of), or even foreigners generally, misses the point. It's rich people/organisations protecting their interests at the expense of the greater good. This is what they do and this is what the whole thing was about back in 1992. Plenty of fans said so at the time, without necessarily being able to foresee all future events, but then we're just fans so we know nothing...
Incidentally, franchising already exists in English football and has nothing to do with the Septics. People are allowed to think MK should just be allowed to get on with things now and that we should all move on, but their continued presence is a warning to the game and until they die the reason for their existence should not be forgotten (or indeed forgiven).
