The players may not get it at first, but over the season they will and it will pay dividends. Having one system and sticking with it only works if you have players with a higher level of ability than everyone else in the division (see the squad we had in the oft referenced 96/97 which was blessed with talent that would have at worst challenged at the top of the division above). Having plan Bs, Cs, Ds and so on mean that we will be able to turn poor performances like today around.
I have no doubt these players will be able to cope, they are largely players who have had either some level of professional training in the past or have the skill and footballing brains to play higher in the future. Despite what some people may think these are not Dog and Duck FC players, they're not thick.
