The Hatters Half marathon is the Stockport County Supporters Co-operative's flagship event and we hope to raise around £5,000 for the Guardian Account, plus a considerable amount via sponsorship for local charities. The Wellspring homeless charity and resource centre alone have 30 runners and they are hoping to have a total of 50 supporting their worthy cause!
To make this event a success, the Co-op are appealing for help with the following:
Would any supporters be able to help cut back the course or lend the Co-op a diesel / petrol driven strimmer? Ideally, we are looking to undertake this work on Sunday 20th August. The race takes place on the Trans Pennine Trail and we need help cutting back a couple of sections of the course that are overgrown.
We also have two teams of physio's providing free massage to runners, before and after the race. However, we need a large gazebo / cover for the physios to work, especially if it is raining. Can any supporters lend us this equipment?
Finally, we still need more marshals to ensure the safety of our runners, especially on Northgate Road in Edgeley and the Ford Lane / Boat Lane section in Northenden.
