That's the only question relevant.
Right. I get that my comment is controversial. But take a look at the police numbers and the degradation of police and security services.
Take a look at the manner in which BoJo took an axe to fire services in and around London. Has that had an impact on what happened last night? You're right, I don't know. I'm just presuming. And yes, there were 40 engines and 200 firemen. But who actually knows whether that's enough to deal with a 30 level residential building being immolated by fire. I'm not a fireman. I'd be interested to hear an opinion from a fireman. But 40 engines and 200 people doesn't sound that much to me....a lot....but look at the challenge they were facing.
When I was watching the building literally entirely lit up at about 4am this morning there looked to be a pretty unsatisfactory amount of water being fired at it. But, again I accept, in contrition, that I'm no expert.
Then, when things have died down, it will be very interesting to see what the Kensington and Chelsea TMO set up was all about. They've been warned on a number of occasions that a tragedy will occur. They may well be THE most culpable. Which then raises more questions.
Should I have commented. Probably not. I have though, and I stand by my comments for now. If it's proven that I've been unfair you can come back to me and ask me to hold my hands up. I'm big enough to do that.
