For any of you who don't know Mark, he races a Mustang out here in Div. 7 with us.
We talked at the Winternationals, and he was telling me how me was watching a TV special on Breast Cancer with his wife. Then the Dr. said Men need to check themselves as well, as they can get it. He started checking himself and found a lump.
He said he keep thinking no way, and kept feeling it for a week before going in. The Dr. told him they needed to do a Biopsy on it. Came back that it was a form of Melonoma. They removed it and about two weeks before the Winternats, they removed all the lymph nodes under his right arm.
He was waiting to go back to the Doctor, so he went to Phoenix and raced both the National and Div. Races. I talked to him over there and he was just waiting to go back to the Doctor. We exchanged e mails a few times in between and he was keeping me updated on his condition. We went away for Easter and when I got home and checked my e mails, I had one from him. He said they had gone to UCLA and that more test showed it had spread into his spleen and liver. The Doctor decided to start his treatment with a heavy dose, and the next thing I know, he is in the hospital. Then I read on another site he probably wouldn't make it to the weekend. Well I sure didn't sleep last night. Prayed alot for him. This morning Art called the hospital to see if maybe we could go see him, and how he was doing. He was informed that he left the hospital yesterday and has entered hospice. Not sure where he is or if that means hospice is coming to his home to treat him. I am asking everyone to please say a prayer for Mark and his family in this very difficult time. I had asked him at the Winternations if he cared if I shared this with other people and he said no. So I had his blessing telling his story.
