Tell me that's not a racist stereotype of black children just as the mammy role is a steryotypical role of black women. Tv, film, and other pop. culture during that time promoted stereotypical roles of blacks without a doubt. Why else would lynchings and black collectibles be so popular? They wanted to promote that fact that African Americans were sub-human and deserved no rights. Evidence of this lies in the phenomena of lynchings, black-face minstrel shows. Look at the fact that there are no positive black roles existed from the start of the innovation of tv/film until this present day (Monster's Ball- the black jezebel role, Training Day- the thug role). There's no problem in loving Tom & Jerry, but please don't discount the fact that it inhabits thing stereotypical, racist role.
