i would have to agree totally. I loved watching the old Tom and Jerry cartons in the late 80's and early 90's before some of the editing was done, and have been wondering what has happended to the cartoons between now and today. I was watching mouse in manhattan today on cartoon network and it edited the shoe polish bit short and it jumps to a unrelated scene, and i thought to my self it was a longer scene and it was, i found an unedited version on the net and it does not cut up the music like the edited version. We can not erease history nor should we, but that was ten and we now know it was inappropriate, but dont destroy history to make it "Politically Correct". Because of teh old cartoons, i learned to appreciate antiques in the terms of furniture and decorateive arts, and gained a intrest in older arcitecture, vintage holidy decor, etc. I actually found a one piece outlet like one that was featured in one of the tom and jerry shorts and have now gained a fondness of push button light switches. I have actually learned history throught these cartoons, something that we may not find in todays "cartoons". I think that their historical integrity should remain, we learn from the past to prevent future mistakes.
