We have just returned from our second trek in Nepal.
First time, we did the Annapurna circuit in 2001, and this time we did the Everest region.
Gokyo, Chola Pass and Kallapattar.
For this trek, we had hired a private guide: Raj Nepal.
We have seen a lot of guides while travelling in Nepal and he is certainly one of the most competent we saw. Not only is he professional and efficient, he is also very friendly.
One thing you have to consider is that, when you go trekking, you are on holiday and the experience is supposed to be fun. So, it is very important for me to have a friendly guide and someone who has a good sense of humour. We had lots of laughs with Raj.
But, when the time comes to be careful, he will take the greatest care so you can feel secure. He will always be aware of your needs and care for your health and safety.
Finally, he is very knowledgeable about the culture and geography of the region.
All in all, he is very professional.
We strongly recommend this guide to anyone who wants to have a good time in Nepal.
