Imja Tse peak, at a height of 6,189meters, is more popularly known by the name of Island Peak. Island Peak trip is a special trek which combines an ascent of Island Peak with a visit to the famous lakes of the Gokyo area. We start from Lukla and trek slowly up the Dudh Kosi valley. After a few days we branch off to Gokyo, and after climbing Gokyo Ri for fantastic views of Cho Oyu and Everest we cross the Cho La and descend to Dingboche to prepare for the ascent of Island Peak.
Island Peak was the name given to the mountain in 1952 by Eric Shipton's party who thought it to be reminiscent of an island in a sea of ice. It is also known by it's Nepali name of Imja Tse. The mountain is an extension of Lhotse Shar, and is located between the Lhotse and Imja glaciers, standing at 6,189m/20,305ft.
We ascend by the standard route and although the summit can be reached in one day from base camp, we make use of a high camp. The final ridge is a classic of it's kind and from the summit fabulous views can be enjoyed of many Himalayan giants including the immense south face of Lhotse and the huge peak of Ama Dablam. This trek is a fully equipped camping trek with accommodation in two person tents and food being cooked by our kitchen staff. Transport to and from the Everest region is by air.

Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. (D)
Day 02: Free day or sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. (B,D)
Day 03: 45 minutes Flight to Lukla (2710m) then trek to Phakding(2650m). (B,L,D)
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar(3450m). (B,L,D)
Day 05: Acclimatization day. (B,L,D)
Day 06: Namche Bazaar - Tengbuche (3760m). (B,L,D)
Day 07: Tengbuche - Dingbuche (4310m). (B,L,D)
Day 08: Dingbuche - Lobuche (4910m). (B,L,D)
Day 09: Lobuche - Everest Base camp (5545m)/back to Gorakshep (5135m). (B,L,D)
Day 10: Kala Pattar (5310m) /back to Lobuche. (B,L,D)
Day 11: Lobuche - Dingboche (4310m). (B,L,D)
Day 12: Dingboche - Chukkung (4730m). (B,L,D)
Day 13: Chukkung - Island Peak Base Camp (5150m) (B,L,D)
Day 14: Climb to High camp (5481m) (B,L,D)
Day 15: Climb to summit (6189m) and return to Base Camp (B,L,D)
Day 16: Base camp - Dingbuche (4310m). (B,L,D)
Day 17: Dingbuche - Tengbuche (3760m). (B,L,D)
Day 18: Tengbuche - Namche Bazaar (3450m). (B,L,D)
Day 19: Namche Bazaar - Lukla (2710m). (B,L,D)
Day 20: Lukla Fly to Kathmandu (1310m) transfer to hotel. And rest of the time for shopping (B,L,D)
Day 21 : Final Depature to your country. (
