CT and Rae Dawn Chong was married one year after they made Soul Man in 1988. They Where divorced a year later. The only thing CT ever said publicly about the break up was, I wanted out! He left one day with the cloths on his back, his car key in his hand and his wallet in his back packet. That's the reason why he is stuck doing B films. All of his money was in a joint account with her and he did not want to fight for it. His best friend Darren Dalton let him stay with him until he got back on his feet. CT had to take whatever job came his way. He was at the point where he could pick and choose is jobs, but he need to pay bills and start over.
