Posted by Damian Hammontree Recently, I've sort of picked up text adventure gaming (and Z-machine interpreters, and suchlike) as a hobby, and I've been slowly collecting the Z files of a bunch of old adventure games like so many old coins or stamps. The thing is, the text adventure game I used to play at JHU isn't among those commercially produced at the time, so I haven't yet found a copy. Ideally, there would be some old-timer sitting in the basement of Garland Hall who would have an old listing of what games they had on their mainframe at the time, and I could find out the name and author of the game from him. So, I guess why I'm posting here is just to see if anyone can help me with some background information. What was the mainframe system that Hopkins had that was accessible by the main terminal room in Maryland Hall in the summer of 1981? Who was responsible for running it? Did HACF even exist back then? :^) Thanks, all!

Hey, all. I realize this is a long-shot, but what the hey. I was in CTY when it was still OTID back in the summer of 1981 at JHU. Between classes and getting picked up by my parents, I used to kill time in Maryland Hall playing one of the text adventure games on the mainframe there.
