Bats?? There was one bat declared altered by USSSA. It has not been determined by the manufacturer that the bat is altered. How about we wait for the final word from the manufacturer. I would hate to think that a coach would put his/her team in this position and cause a player to lose a year or more of competition, when it isn't necesary. At this level of competition the long balls will come because of differing factors, such as, wind, humidity, bat speed, player ability, player strenght, ball compression, luck. etc. There are too many vairiables to put so much on the line for a long ball. Face it Long Haul can hit the long ball and will continue to do so. Let's step back and wait for the results of the bats tests by the manufacturer before we pass judgment. AND if the results show the bat to be altered, hasn't the price been paid? Or are we in the mentality that one cheated, so that must all be cheaters. Doesn't sound fair to me.
