Liverpool airport

The design of the old liverpool (Speke ) airport buildings has been attributed to A.J. Cobham and Sir John Burnet and Ptnrs, does any one know whether this is so. I have asked English heritage and they refer back to a book written in the 1930's, but have no further information.
