Hi Steve,
It would appear that the plague was well established in Liverpool before 1665.
There is mention of a return of the plague to Liverpool in 1651, so it must be assumed that this was not the first visitation.
I would reccomend,'A history of Plague in Lancashire',by R Sharpe France, Reprinted from the Transactions of the Historic Society of Lancashire and Chehire (1938).Picton Library should have a copy.Good luck in your research.
