I think it was 1964. I lived across the road (from 1958, my mum is still there). As children we used to play on the fields where the school was to be built. There was a wide ditch, often dry, running along The Avenue with a row of very old mature trees, where we would attach ropes for swinging across etc. I remember an old Austin 7 in the field we used to play in. Very upset when they began building the school and we lost our playground! I also remember watching Harold Wilson going past on his way in to open the school. Halewood Library has a cuttings collection from the Daily Post & Echo and I'm sure they have the story on the opening, plus articles on the plans for Halewood building developments in 1960s including a new school.
