Hi.I am maybe runnung out of time.I'm trying to find something about Lunty My Mothers Father and My Grandad.Have his birth, marriage and death Certificates. He married 1912 mum was born 1913,he was at sea.WW1 began and early on he was mined or torpedoed,in an open lifeboat for quite a few days. When rescued he had to have both legs below the knees amputated.Mum's oldest brother was born 1917 May.So llowing for preganancy and recovery.Ship Must have been sunk early in the war.He earned quite a gratuity and became an alcoholic and had 6 children altogether. My Mum,Albert Gordon,Marjorie,Reginald,Dora,Cyril and Harry(died 11 yrs old)I believe he was the Chief Engineer and there was a big newspaper article about him,as being a hero.My Mum married my Dad in 1932 and moved in the My Dads,Dad and his wife Capt Berry of the Bramley Moore Tug of the Alexander Towing Co.Know nothing about him as all the records were destroyed in the Blitz.Capt wife minnie died Nov 1932.Not soon after Mums brothers and sisters had all come to live with us as Lunty had become quite abusive due to the Booze.I have tried a couple of researchers and they did RN lists and lost the fees.If anyone could help it would be very much appreciated.Uncles and Aunts wouldn't talk about him.I got to know him a wee bit when I played soccer. He would come up after the game and tell me how I'd Played, then always 'I'm a bit short this week could you loan me a couple of Bob.Always gave him 7/6 pence out of the 15 bob I got off Liverpool in the "A","B",teams got a bit more the couple of times I played in the Reserves.Lunty got a little increase as well.He was a good man at heart.Hope some one might just have an inkling of his Past.Best Regards To All,Thanks Mike once again for a wonderfully interesting Site Ken B
