Please would anyone have any details concerning a Michael SWEENEY(full age) who married Eleanor CODD, Pembs. in Toxteth,Liverpool in 1862. Michael was a private in the 61st/51st (Digit unclear) Regiment of Foot according to the marriage certificate and gave his father's name as George SWEENEY. Eleanor remarried in Pembs. a few years later, but there is no evidence of Michael dying in Wales. A Death Certificate for a Michael Sweeney shows a 29 year old dying of Phthisis in Brownlow Hill workhouse in 1863 but I cannot positively link the death certificate to my ancestor and am not convinced that this is the correct person. If anyone can add to the information I have about Michael I would be very pleased to receive details.
