Surgeon KIRKPATRICK 130 Park Lane, Liverpool d 1837

I was very interested to read about the early hospitals in Liverpool. I've been looking for an ancestor, David KIRKPATRICK who was a Master Mariner in Liverpool from the date of his marriage in 1818 and by the time he died, aged 54 was described as a "Surgeon". Is there anyone out there who would know where I could find the identities of those who attended patients about that time please.
