I have found an entry on the 1881 Census for my husband's grandmother listed at 14 St Martins Cott, Liverpool. It lists her place of birth as PITTOR BROOK lancs. I have been unable to find Pittor Brook but on your site I have come across Ditton Brook. As her father is listed as Occupation - Iron dresser I wondered if he worked in a foundry.Does anyone know anything about St Martins Cottages in that area?
