This is probably not connected, but there was a brewery in Tarbock. In fact there is a "Brewery House" in the village. The brewery moved to a purpose built factory in Gateacre and was eventualy bought out by Burtonwood breweries. The factory was in business as a felt factory until about 2004 and is now in the process of being converted into flats.
