I am researching the adoption of my Grandfather in 1912. The adoption was handled by the Hostel of Hope in Liverpool. There is a link between the Hostel of Hope and Sunnybank orphanage in Arnside. Constance Wishaw was the head of the orphanage in Arnside at the turn of the 19th Century, while Miss E Martin corresponded with my adopted Great Grandparents in 1912 from the Hostel of Hope.
