Try the Trade Directories - they list the name & occupation of the head of the household. Liverpool Central Library have a full set on microfilm. Some local libraries have copies of the original books - Wallasey, Liverpool & Crosby definitely have them - but they might not have a complete set. You can also obtain cds of directories from Archive CD Books.
One problem with the directories is that not all streets are listed. Also, the occupants are not necessarily the owners of a property - most people at that time rented property, very few were owners. Again, these records are at Liverpool Central Library. Aigburth library may also have them.
