Posted by Elizabeth Howarth Charles Lister was listed as Surgeon General Practitioner (Member of Royal College of Surgeons) and lived there with his wife Anne, and four children until his death at about the age of 60 in early 1860. Their son Edward was a Surgeon Apprentice, and their daughters were Jane (aged 12 in 1851) and Mary Anne (aged 9). Can anyone tell me where the girls would have been educated? Also, the address given was 30 Fairclough Lane. The street doesn't appear on modern maps. The old-maps site doesn't show street names other the manin roads. Can you point me to an old map of that area that might show street names? I hope someone can help me with my query.

My great-great-grandparents, originally from Yorkshire, were living in West Derby at the time of the 1851 Census.
