Posted by John B I did notice that there was already an entry for the Radeon card with the same ATI Disply adaptor name, but I entered your version at the bottom of the file (the only difference I could see was that your version did not have quote marks). I saved the file and then wnt to options and selected the second Radeon 9200 card and that was it. Thanks for the advice! John --Previous Message--

: good day,
: i also just bought a new ps with a radeon
: 9200 video card however mine has 256k on the
: card. i also am having the same problem with
: slow fps, i get between 6 and 8. i adjusted
: settins and them downloaded the omega
: drivers. no help still slow,
: swing meter runs at normal speed everthing
: else in slo mo. i would like for it not to
: take 3 hrs to play a round. anybody git any
: ideas.

: I just installed a Radeon 9200 AGP Video
: Card.
: Game boots up fine but looks like it is
: playing in slow motion. When I activate the
: FPS for the golfers, it is really low. I
: have checked all settings in directX and my
: video card and all hardware acceleration is
: on. I am running Directx 8.1. I have
: played
: Links on my machine previously with a
: Nividia
: GForce card with only 64 Meg of ram and it
: ran fine until my video card gave out the
: other day. The Radeon has 128 meg of
: ram...go figure?
:
: Here is the answer to your problem
: I also could not get above 7-12 fps, but
: have now resolved it. The problem appears to
: be that Links does not really recognize the
: graphics device. You can try the following
:
: The device id for the ATI Radeon 9200 should
: be 0x5961, you can verify this by running
: DXDIAG.
: Go to the Links 2003 directory and find the
: file Videocard.txt
: Open the file with Notepad, and locate the
: following: "Vendor = 0x1002
: "ATI"
: Below that are a number of device id's, got
: to the last one before the next "Vendor
: =" line, and enter the following below
: it
:
: 0x5961 = Radeon 9200 (if dxdiag shows a
: different device id for your card enter that
: instead)
:
: On the next line you can also add
: "NoCopyZInVidMem" without quotes
: Save the file and open Links and select the
: Radeon 9200 as your card
:
: Had the same problem and fixed my problem
: instantly. Just check DirectX and use the
: correct number as identified..
