why Links2003 is so slow on my laptop?

I ran Links2003 on my DELL desktop, it can achieve >30 frames/second. The DELL has 2.5G CPU 32M video memory and 512M RAM. Now, I have a laptop, it is celeron 2.2G CPU, 256M RAM, 64M shared video memory, the frame rate is only 10! Does that mean I need add some memory to the notebook? or I need change some options? Anyone has experience of playing Links on a laptop?
