Posted by Richard For a school A Level project I have to basically make a golf club specification system, where a user inputs the data of a particular shot, here is my design brief; "The choice of golf club needed for a particular shot depends on the distance to the hole, the weather conditions and the abilities of the player. What I am planning to do is for a user to be able to input data before a game, such as gender, skill and what clubs you are taking, etc. So that when your on the course, you dont have to stand around holding everyone up All you have to do when on the course, is to input things like the distance from the pin, the wind conditions, terrain the ball is in etc, which can be done with simple pull down boxes and input screens. Hopefully then each club will be assigned a number to what each situation it is best suited for, e.g. if a bunker shot, a sand wedge will be given 10, and a 2 wood would be given 0 etc. and so the club with the highest number will be the systems choice. My question(s) to you are; - Would you find a system helpful as a guide to your decision? Or would you prefer your experience to guide you? Thank you for your time. Richard Blake.

Please could I have a moment of your time to read through this and answer my brief question. I appreciate
Could you produce a spreadsheet advice system which could be used on a palm-top computer by a player to receive advice on the best club to use for a particular shot?"
- If you had to use this on a palm top on the field, would you prefer to use a series of pull down menus or to type in the data?
- How would you say different weather conditions affect your choice of club. Such as strong winds, and the opposite, gentle or little wind. Does rain or dry weather affect your choice and if so how, with examples please?
(Will you go one club up or down in certain situations)
- How would you say your level of skill depended on which club you use are certain clubs easier or harder to use?
- Do you use a club of preference, if so what, or do you prefer to use any club you feel is right for the situation?
