My game will not work!!!!!

Hello,
I have a problem with my Links 2003 game. I go to start it up and i get a deep blue screen then a complete lockup while on that same screen. I have to run it in Safe Mode to get it to work.
I have:
Dell 8250
2.4Ghz P4
256 MB Rambus
80 GB HDD
Radeon 9700 TX (128 MB DDR)
Soundblaster Live! 4.1 sound card
Windows XP Pro
PLEASE HELP ME!!!
