Links 2003 ran fine, now very slow.

I ran Links 2003 on a Pentium 3 550 mhz with 128 MB RAM and 16 MB video RAM. It was OK, but the graphics settings had to be turned WAY down. I installed a Radeon 9000 Pro with 128 MB video RAM. Everything was great, even with all graphics settings turned all the way up. Today, The redraws are still fast, but when I actually hit the ball (Classic swing) it takes FOREVER to display the animation. The swing takes a long time and the ball flight probably takes 10-15 seconds. I turned the graphics settings back down and it didn't help at all. Any suggestions? Anyone?
