Posted by Jeff Pretty funny that these companys always harp about "the most recent drivers", yet we are going back to an older one. I am not sure that I am going to leave this on on my machine as I have numerous games that may or may not function properly with the older driver. I hope a patch can address this issue as it would seem a pain to change drivers to play this game. --Previous Message--

I tried installing the older driver and it works perfectly. I put the quality slider all the way up and played 9 holes at Cambrian Ridge without a problem. The reflections on the water hazards are beautiful.
: Got a response from Microsoft in less than
: 24hrs! Pretty impressive. They suggested
: lowering the quality settings as I have
: done. They also suggested downloading an
: Nvidia driver version 30.82. I'm not sure
: about doing that as I play numerous other
: games and I worry about those ones not
: functioning properly on the older driver.

: Make sure you have the most current drivers

: I just got Links 2003 and I am having a
: problem
: where the game locks up while 'rendering'.
: It seems to be dependent on which course,
: I can't even start Cambrian Ridge or
: GlenEagles, and Tribute and Skeleton Coast
: froze up after playing a few holes. I was
: able to play 18 holes at Cabo del Sol and
: Kauri Cliffs. The game plays great when it
: works, very smooth. I have tried a few
: different setups (resolutions, detail
: levels, etc..)but nothing helped.
: pentium 566
: 320MB Ram
: 64MB Nvidia Geforce 2 (with Dec. 3, 2002
: drivers)
: ~ 9G free on hard drive
: Any ideas???
