Game always hangs when loading a course

I had this game installed and it worked fine. I formatted my hard drive and now when i play the course loads up but hangs when the "rendering" thing comes up. I had no trouble before but now am having trouble each time I load. I have an AMD 1.3 Ghz, 256MB DDR ram, Nvidia tnt2 32MB video, SB Live value sound. if anyone can help it would be great thanks!
