swing meter speed

I just bought a laptop computer, and everything is a lot faster than my old desktop.
I lookd forward to moving Links 2003 onto it, because I knew that the graphics would be redrawn so much faster. However, the swing speed (I use the classic 3-click) is so fast that I can't even come close to final clicking at the right time. The game is unplayable.
Is there any sort of file that addresses this problem?
