Posted by Jill on 11/15/2005, 5:27 pm Wondering what other accessible recreation programs are out there, and what they are doing well... or not so well. Would appreciate any feedback on how to eliminate barriers for people with disabilities and to encourage life-long recreational pursuits for people of all abilities.

I work for a nonprofit in Oregon that provides inclusive recreation opportunities (www.awloutdoors.com). Mostly day trips... canoeing, sea-kayaking, rock-climbing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, rafting and biking. We provide adapted equipment and additional volunteer or staff support whenever needed, making all programs accessible for people with varying disabilities.
