Or boundeth far and free across the plain,
So when my love appeareth at my side
My very blood doth quicken heart and vein
With blooming life, renewing and renewed,
As once again his hand in mine is twined,
And in my soul, all worries are subdued;
When he is near, 'tis only bliss I find.
His gentle touch is balm unto this heart
Which hath but lately made a guest of grief,
And where the pain of loss did keenly smart,
His kisses are a salve of sweet relief.
My love and I, whose hearts do beat as one
This dance of deep delight have but begun!
