Terrific result for the lads Saturday against a very good Aldershot side though i hear that the crowd again was very dissapointing.I have forgotten how many people have said that they cant afford all the friendlies or wont pay £8 to watch the likes of Ringmer play a different team each half but have also said they cant wait for the season to start,so i think we will see a massive improvement in crowd size Saturday.
Did anyone else see the non-league paper and its betting page?Who are the mystery men putting all this money on Lewes rceiving a 30 yes 30 point start????The paper says that the only money coming in on non league footie bets is for Lewes, i hope they collect at the end of the season like we did this year!(many thanks to Alan Pook,Darren Freeman and Windsor and Eton,love the joke in our proggie about whats red and green and goes beep,beep,beep-the windsor championship open top bus reversing back in the garage!!
So many people are looking forward to the new season and so am i bigtime,i just hope with all these new faces that we can build the player-fan relationships we have had over the last few years as it really helps morale when you have players talking to fans after matches and having a beer with them rather than just sitting in groups in corners waiting to go a.s.a.p.
It is really good to see Marc Cable approaching full fitness too,he jogs past my house most nights(as do most people,must empty that bin!!) and you can just tell he is up for things and will be a massive asset to us this year when times get tough.
Team selection is a nightmare at the momment and the trouble is that every player that Steve brings in tends to be bloody good!!We all would pick a different eleven with maybe only big George and Barrington certain starters so it will be very interesting against Canvey tonight who starts as in my eyes that will be the first eleven for Saturday,its worth us all going down tonight to be put out of our misery!!
I personally would like to mention Danny Davies who almost singlehandedly last year carried us to the position we are in today,he won every award going last year and i hope to see him play many more games for the rooks in the future the same for Lee Newman.Anyway cant wait even with a dodgy leg, COME ON YOU ROOKS!!!
